John Lindsay
John Lindsay has been
a director of The Lines
Company Ltd since 5
August 2004.
He has had extensive
business experience as
Chief Executive and a board
member of a number of manufacturing and service
companies based in New Zealand and operating
internationally, as a member of the executive
committee of several national Trade Associations
and as an independent director of the New
Zealand Rugby Union.
He is currently Chairman of Holcim Limited and
the New Zealand Chambers of Commerce and
Industry as well as a director of the Auckland
Chamber of Commerce and a number of other
companies including McDonalds Lime Limited.
Malcolm Don
CHAIRMAN
Malcolm Don has been
a director of The Lines
Company Ltd since 24
November 1994. He was
elected as Chair on 16
September 2005.
He has had extensive experience in retail, leading
to the post of Treasurer in Lion Nathan Limited.
Mr Don retired in 1986 to pursue a farm
ownership role as well as a number of professional
directorships. Malcolm is currently a director of
Counties Power Limited as well as a director of
other companies.
Peter Till
Peter has a wide
appreciation of all aspects
of electricity supply. At
various times he has
specialised in substation
design, computer control,
line design, hydro operation
and economic modelling.
Employment in South Canterbury, Horowhenua,
South Taranaki, King Country Energy and Bay of
Plenty Electricity culminated in 2 years involved in
restoring supply with the UNDP in Iraq under the
oil for food programme. It was refreshing to work
in an environment where people craved electrical
supply, queued to pay for it and respected
engineers.
On returning to NZ after the second Gulf war Peter
became District Engineer for the Ruapehu District
Council and has subsequently been promoted to
Chief Executive Officer.
Charging for monopoly services, taxation and
perceptions of fairness have become Peter’s
passion over recent years.
Earl Rattray
Earl Rattray is King Country
based Dairy farmer and
Company Director
His current governance
roles include Directorships
of several Agricultural
Technology and farming
companies, as well as King Country based Inframax
Construction Ltd.
Earl was a past and founding Director of  Fonterra,
and its predecessors the NZ Dairy Group and NZ
Dairy Board. Earl was the Founding Chairman of
the Dairy Companies Association of New Zealand,
and severed as an External Monetary policy
advisor to The Reserve Bank Of New Zealand.
Earl holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics
degree from Massy University, is an Accredited
Member of the Institute of Directors, and is a
Fellow of the New Zealand  Institute of Primary
Industry Management.
