The Project Crimson Trust was established to fight for the survival of New Zealand’s iconic
pōhutukawa trees. Project Crimson is a leading conservation organisation, which has made
impressive progress re-establishing pōhutukawa and rātā nationwide by planting trees,
coordinating and supporting a wide range of maintenance activities, scientific research, possum
control programmes and public education. It works with organisations, communities and
individuals throughout New Zealand and can assist them by providing funding and ecologically-
sourced trees for local projects.
Project Crimson’s mission:
“Enabling pōhutukawa and rātā to flourish again in their natural habitat, as icons in the hearts
and minds of all New Zealanders.”
